Why is Policy Important?
By coming together with one voice as rural electric cooperatives, alongside their member-owners, electric co-ops continue to help shape and create sound public policy that benefits rural Kansas.
At all levels of government, it is imperative that relevant legislative and regulatory matters are monitored and acted upon, and that service is provided through cooperatives membership in KEC, the statewide service organization for the rural electric cooperatives in Kansas.
How is KEC Involved in Policy Development?
KEC's Government Relations department builds and maintains key relationships with members of the Kansas congressional delegation, the governor, legislators, agency leaders and staffers. KEC actively engages with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), as well as utility and agricultural organizations, to advance cooperative interests at the state and national levels. By coming together and addressing issues with one voice, electric co-ops continue to help shape and create sound public policy for the benefit of rural Kansas.
